A national exam known as the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is required for enrollment in undergraduate programs at all Central Universities of India as well as a few other participating institutions. According to a recent statement from the University Grants Commission (UGC), applicants for undergraduate admission to any of the central universities must take the exam.

Exam Pattern

The computer-based test would have multiple-choice questions and be available in Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, or Odia, among other 13 languages. Correct answers will result in a bonus of five points (+5). For each erroneous response, one point is deducted in the negative marking system. Unanswered inquiries won’t be considered.

The exam will be broken up into two parts, with the first lasting 195 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and the second from 03:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. (225 minutes). The General Test, two domain subjects, and Section IA language are all included in Part 1. The last three or four domain subjects as well as one or two languages from Sections IA and/or IB are included in Part 2. If a student choose to attend for all nine of their assignments, they will only spend the time allotted. The number of disciplines a student chooses will determine how long each course will be.

Centers: The exam will be administered in 547 Indian cities as well as 13 places abroad.

Which subjects to pick: Make a list of the colleges and programs you want to apply to. Each will have a different set of prerequisite subjects. For course X, one institution might mandate that students take one language, one domain topic, and the General Test, while another might demand that they take two domain subjects and the General Test. The student must then pass three tests: the General test, two domain topic exams, and one language exam.

The candidate will receive the scorecard instead of the merit list, which is not the responsibility of the NTA. Universities that are concerned may conduct further screening procedures or directly create their own merit lists using the CUET results.
